Events and Charity Officer
Disability Sport Wales are looking for a creative, solutions-focused, passionate Event and Charity Officer, with excellent communication skills and a clear sense of how charities can function for wide-ranging benefit to the people within its communities. This is an exciting new role which focuses on growing events and creating growth within DSW as a charity.

Salary:
£17,643 pa (£25,446 pro rata)
Hours:
26 hrs/week (part time)

Background:
The Federation of Disability Sport Wales (or Disability Sport Wales (DSW)) are the lead organisation in Wales for disability sport and sport for disabled people. We are a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. We share the vision for sport in Wales (an active nation where everyone can have lifelong enjoyment of sport) and our mission is to:
influence, include, inspire, insport
We do this through the provision of specific programmes (DSWDO Community programme, insport, Performance Pathway Hubs) and services (Education and Training for those involved with physical activity (including sport)) which is intended to support a pathway of choice from initial engagement to performance sport at the highest level. We are a small team of incredibly committed, passionate individuals whose shared purpose is to advocate for an inclusive approach within the sector.

The Opportunity:
The postholder will work with colleagues to support the delivery of insport Series Events, lead on other existing DSW events, and identify other fundraising opportunities and events for the future. The role will combine income generation, with creating the resources to ensure consistent delivery of core events throughout Wales, as well as the implementation of an effective fundraising strategy.
A confident, innovative, and self-directed candidate, who can communicate persuasively and openly with a range of current and new partners will thrive within this role. Being familiar with exciting ways to deliver events and working with colleagues to produce and implement creative marketing and promotional approaches so as to positively and clearly communicate the impact of DSW’s work.
Ideally you will have prior experience of working with fundraising, income generation and/or the delivery of events. If you are passionate about supporting communities through the showcasing of work and impact, then we want you to apply.
